But I was wrong!

But you need to practice these two qualities. Mastering them overnight is not possible. You need strong faith, good habits, and a purpose of life to get through it.
So first of all, you must build a strong connection with Allah. And it starts with understanding; Who is God?
1 – Build a Strong Connection with Allah
First of All, Pray to Allah for Guidance. He will surely guide you in the best way.
And here is what worked for me.
Start your study with the purpose of this creation. Why someone sent you on this planet, and who is He?
Remember.
We are here for a purpose!
We are not here to just Eat, Sleep, Reproduce, and Die! There is a purpose of this creation.
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
Quran (44:38)
After Finding your purpose. You have to understand the creator!
Learn about Allah’s names and promises. Trust that He is the Best Planner (Al-Hakeem) and the Provider (Al-Razzaq).
Read the Quran with translation to better understand THE CREATOR. Stay consistent even if you’re reading one verse a day.
While you are studying about your purpose. It’s time to build a prayer routine.
To avoid daily distractions, Remember Allah through simple dhikr, like “Alhamdulillah” (Praise be to Allah) or “HasbunAllahu wa ni’mal wakeel” (Allah is enough for me).
This way, you will build a foundation to grow further. Next step is practice in daily life.
Remember: It is a marathon, Not a sprint. Consistency is the Key.
2. Start Small and Practice
While reading Quran, or any hadith. Whenever you find something Haram and you’re doing it. You must leave it
For example cheating in exam is against islam as you’re being unfair to those hardworking students.
But due to peer pressure, you are also cheating in exam.
It’s time for your first action!!!
You will leave this bad habit without thinking of the loss. Its true that you’ll lose some grades.
But you’re being committed to Islam and showing your Effort to Allah.
As being narrated in well-known Qudsi Hadith, “If he (my servant) comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.” (Bukhari 7405)
Trust me brother/sister, you will start finding peace in your life. Allah will open new doors for you. As mentioned, “And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect.” (Quran 65:2-3)
There will be more Haram things to leave in daily life. It depends on you whether you’re loyal to Allah or not.
2. Combine Effort and Trust for Excellance
A good muslim is defined by Excellance rather than perfectionism.
When we talk about doing your best, it’s important to understand the difference between perfectionism and excellence/
Perfectionism is about Striving for flawlessness and being overly focused on making everything perfect. It will definitely gonna:
- Lead to stress and frustration because nothing is ever “good enough.”
- Focuses too much on control rather than trust in Allah.
- You might fear failure so much that you procrastinate or avoid trying.
But There is another good way! Called Excellence.
Excellence means doing your best with sincerity, knowing that Allah sees your efforts. It is beneficial because,
- It encourages consistent improvement without obsessing over perfection.
- You trust Allah for the results while working hard.
- You feel peace because you focus on pleasing Allah, not chasing unrealistic standards.
Focus on doing your best for Allah’s sake, and let go of the pressure to be flawless. This balance keeps your heart light and your mind clear. 🌟
